Solo Exhibition | State: Zero (Būsena: nulis)

Užupis Art Incubator "Galera", Vilnius
December 5, 2025 – January 16, 2026

What if a sprout of understanding, emerging from primitive instinct, provoked an unstoppable process of transformation? What if the soul, while still limited and imperfect, heard the call to become human?

Let us settle into a space where it is not the body that freezes, but metamorphosis itself. Here, fluid, melting, almost plastic forms bear witness to an endless change that continues even after becoming human. These are not finished bodies, but living processes—sculptures that still remember once being clay.

This is an invitation to return to the "zero state" and remember that becoming human is not a one-time event, but something that happens every time you dare to rise from darkness into light.

Solo Exhibition | Refiring (Perdegimas)

"5 malūnai" Gallery, Vilnius
September 2 – September 30, 2024

A state of constant stress is an inseparable part of urban life. People here have adapted their bodies to a high tempo, tirelessly training on the treadmill of routine. The pace must not be slowed—only accelerated. Again and again. Until the emotional fires smoldering in the background take center stage. Then we stop and go into the forest—simply as we imagine the process—touching the earth with our feet. And that is when we turn burnout into refiring.

The sculptures depict figures in tension, in a negative state, seeking to draw attention to one's emotional condition and to question the over-importance of trivialities. In a typical, stimulus-filled environment, the answer is likely to be "yes." However, if we ask ourselves these same questions while rested and in a state of peace, the probability of a different answer increases.

Compromise (Kompromisas)

The piece is molded from clay and dried, while I fall into a gap of doubt and self-criticism. I wonder: should I let the clay turn into ceramic? If I do, will the piece eventually become just another "indigestible" foreign object to the earth? Or, if I remold it, could that same raw material take on a form more worthy of eternity than it has now? Creativity in the medium of ceramics is undeniably linked to internal conflict, especially in light of today's ecological crisis.

By naming the work Compromise and cutting it in half, I speak about the impossibility of compromise in ceramics. I aim to draw attention to the problem of the material's non-recyclability and the need to promote sustainability—not only in consumption but also in production, including conceptual art objects.

The piece is unfired and can still be remolded.
